The Behavioral Health Professional Certification
The use of the Behavioral Health Professional Curriculum has been expanding in the State of Maine and we are excited to be able to collaborate with Department of Health and Human Services and The Behavioral Health Sciences Institute (BHSI) to offer this Certification online. The Course will be structured with 10 classroom modules to complete, as well as homework and activities, periodic quizzes, videos to view, a onsite discussion group at the end of the Course and a final exam. Online CPR Certification Collaboration with American Heart Association
Active CPR certification is required to apply to DHHS for the BHP Certification. With another simple form, students can enroll in the American Heart Association CPR online certification and do their instructor re-demonstration at the same time as their BHP final discussion group. Student must bring evidence of successful online portion completion to re-demonstration site. This option is available only in the State of Maine. The Personal Support Specialist (Maine)
This State Of Maine Certificate Course was born out of a need to expand the cross training of direct care staff. This Certificate enables the professional to work in home care, assisted livings, adult day centers and some group homes. The credits can be applied toward the Certified Nursing Assistant (ME) program. This training prepares students to work in the human services sector providing personal care and homemaking services. Home Health Aide Certification
This 16-hour Course consists of current certification curriculum review, skills demonstration and an orientation to role of a Certified Nursing Assistant/ Licensed Nursing Assistant who will be functioning as Home Health Aide in Medicare (federally funded) programs. The purpose of this Course is to ensure that each CNA/LNA has the same standard of learning and competencies. Saco River Education uses a multi-media approach to this training including computer based curriculum review, video workshops, one on one instruction with the trainer and hands on group learning. SRE currently works with a number of home care agencies to provide this training in a cost effective, timely manner. Continuing Education for Direct Care Workers, CNA, RCS1, BHP, HS1, DSP, and Child care Workers
This is Saco River Education’s comprehensive Continuing Education Program. Developed by professionals in their fields and delivered with our user friendly platform, these classes provide a variety of relevant and interesting topics for every Direct Care Worker. Each of our classes are narrated and have an “instant scoring” format for the class quiz which allows the student to know immediately whether or not they have passed. Each of these classes are considered as one hour of continuing education. Child and Family Education Assistant Certificate
This Certificate was developed to meet the need of educational assistants and tutors working with children. SRE has received a grant from UNICEF funding this Certificate for tutors in Belize, Central America. SRE will be traveling in October to Belize to award the first Certificates.
